November Babies Do It Better.

September is my birth month, not a lot of nice things happen in this month. There’s actually a song by Green day “wake me up when September ends” it’s one of those months that just sucks. I purposed this year 2021 to make it a month to remember by celebrating each day like it was my last. My WhatsApp status was filled with #SeptemberBabiesRock images and quotes. One of my friends, kept asking when my birthday, I kept posting the September babies in my circles, amazing human beings yet my day never seemed to show up. I was born on 29th September, at the end of the month. Now if #SeptemberBabiesRock irritated people then #NovemberBabiesDoITBetter is going to be overkill.

From when I could remember, I celebrated my birthday with my father who was born on November 24th till I turned 16 years old and I opted to celebrate my birthdays with my friends nanti semi- adult. I was an adopted November baby for over a decade, did I miss the joint celebrations? Sometimes. My father goes big on his birthdays, he throws a party for himself each year. His birthday is also the beginning of the yuletide season in our household; Christmas music and decorations come out of hiding. We officially enter the feel-good season. Don’t you feel all cheery and joyful during Christmas time? Whoever came up with this end of year joy season understood the assignment bulungi!

On 3rd November, 2009 – Keilah Keishemeza took her first breath on earth, making me a November mama. Her birthday is the beginning of feel good season in my life. This year is special because she is a pre- teen, twelve (12) years. Now I move from mummy to consultant (I’ll share more on this in my next blog) I am yet to meet a November baby who isn’t a go getter, defines their own path; in fact, most create their own paths in life kind of outliers but with a sort of finesse and ease that makes you wonder if God was fully awake when He created you. In November, He definitely had all eyes on His creations. Very intelligent, intuitive beings they are, good with their hands and most are creatives: truly the life of the party. I get to mother one and be raised by another.

Legends are born in November.

This November, I have challenged myself to write a blog a day. This stems from Keilah, she asked me to write a book about her since her other siblings got a whole book https://www.jumia.ug/so-what-next-120-pages-by-denise.-n.-kekimuri-author-novel-mpg62259.html she wanted me to write about my pregnancy, her birth and her early years, I decided to gift her my pregnancy journal (each of my children has a pregnancy journal, from the day I know I am pregnant till about 1 year and so many months) instead and write the stories left untold.

We all have those unspoken words, things we never get to tell people or simply didn’t think as important at the time, pushing one to archive them. Those are the stories I want to share in this month. My archive bank is overflowing, yet I haven’t been able to write them out.

Brace yourselves, I have no filter this NOVEMBER!!
